This is actually great news! It's about time someone did this.
Los Angeles Councilman Dennis P. Zine has proposed an ordinance to protect celebrities' personal space.
Los Angeles Councilman Dennis P. Zine has proposed an ordinance to protect celebrities' personal space.
"This is about common decency," Zine said following an LA City Council meeting. "We don't want to put the media out of business, but there has to be some reason when they do their job."
According to his plan, celebrities will be entitled to "Personal Safety Zones" which the paparazzi cannot invade. In theory, this would require the space between a celeb and a paparazzo to be wide enough to drive a car through.
The ordinance is set to protect not only celebs, but the photogs and innocent bystanders as well."
I think this is such a great thing for celebs. It'll probably make us bloggers poor, but trust me I can find plenty of things to talk shit about.
